Hey guys I’m back with more reviews and recaps of Zibby and Alex’s pod!! First of all I need to shout out the podcast page for making a post thanking me! It made me so happy to see that and a thank you to Alex for shareing their post! I think Zibby almost mentioned it on the latest pod because she mentioned someone doing a review and wanting to thank them because they had asked a question but she got sidetracked. Just know that you all made my day and it meant a lot! I really hope you are liking these that I’m doing for you. I know i’m no professional but its super fun for me to write and work on! I plan to do this for all the episodes!! Even the AMA’s!

Now onto the recap for episode 13!! Episode 13 was the interview they did with Tim Mattheson! He is a delight to listen to! You can tell the girls absolutely love and think the world of him. He has been in the business for so long! Zibby said she’d love to have more scenes with him in Virign River beacuse they haven’t worked much together. She wants so badly to work with him. They really spent a lot of time talking about his directing, and his acting career, they talked about family. He and Alex related well to working away when having a family as she has to little ones back home she hates leaving. They spoke about his book and really wanted him to talk about that a lot. Overall Tim was a delight to listen to and the girls excitement for him was adorable! I loved the interview in getting to know more about him. I totally forgot he played Mandy Moores dad on This Is Us until Alex had mentioned it in another episode I think it was the one with Annette. Speaking of Annette, Tim shared photo recreation him that she and him did together, Tim and Annette not only worked on Virgin River together but have worked previously in the past! They have been long time freinds. SO cool!

In the next episode, ep 14 they talked about Teryl Rothery. I’m not gonna lie had I tears from laughing so hard at how this episode started out. They went into talking about farts. It was hilarious. What a way to start off girls!! Teryl is so so so sweet and funny. I just adore her. This was such a great episode. She has a young daughter that loves Alex on Horror Story. They talked about how Teryl got started in acting, and spent a lot of time talking about theater. Zibby has such a love for theater and has done so mnay plays. Teryl talked about being raised by her Grandparents and how she did dance class as a young kid. She talked about how empathetic of a person she is and that she hates to see others bullied. I’m right there with you Teryl! I hate that shit. Overall this was a fantastic interview!

Episode 15 was a random Alex/Zibby episode. They talked about their friendship, and interview with Tim. They were wearing matching jean jackets and talked about being little twinsies. And Zibby you looked just as adorable as Alex!! They talked about Astrologiy and Zibby read Alex off some things about her astrology which I thought was really cool. Oh and Zibby talked about having a girls night with Alex. Alex also mentioned how she has a projecter in her bedroom to watch TV on! ! Even i f these girls aren’t interviewing someone the episode is still so good becuase you get to learn more about them and their freindship. I love it!

The next interview was the one I’m sure MANY people were watiing for it was with Martin Henderson and it was so great! Love his accent! He and Alex spent a lot of time talking about working with each other and Martin got to interview them a little bit too! He spoke about his career, how he does scenes, how he does his acting, he talked about how he got started acting. He gave the girls many compliments! He and Alex were so funny talking about being on differnet wave lenghts. Zibby was so into the conversation and loved learning more about Martin. It was an awesome interview I loved it! I just love the pod so much!

Guys you are missing out if you don’t get the subcription to this pod! Its so good to watch/listen to! Alex and Zibby are so great togetther and the best humans. I love it! I will have another recap/review in the next couple of days of the next 4 episodes as I continue to binge listen!!

Alexandra Breckenridge and Zibby Allen’s “I Like You Very Much Podcast” Episode 9-12 Review & Recap

I am now 12 episodes into this podcast and still LOVING it! These girls are so authentic and real in each episdoe. Episode 9 was their interview with Colin Lawrence who plays Preacher on Virgin River! This was such a great interview with him. He spoke about his family life and how hes originally from the UK. He is aboslutely so sweet, nice and funny. You can tell he is such a family man, who loves his kids and wife. The girls were so interested in his stories and what all he had to share. They were very engaged with him and interested in all whath he had to say. They asked him different questions about how he grew up, his paretns, etc. They also asked him about his career, what his dream role would be etc. It was an awesome episode. I LOVED it! I love these interviews they are doing with people where they are so open and honest.

The next episode was a another AMA! I love these episodes becuase you get to learn more about them as people and the fans do such a good job with their questions. Some of the things the girls talked about was their husbands & if they get jealous due to their scenes on the show, having their husbands on the pod sometime! I think this was the episode where Alex mentioned having Christan Serratos on and I just got to say Alex if you are reading this whenever I think of Christian I think of her in Twilight movies! I think she’d be great to have on too! One of the topics I LOVED that they touched on was self worth and how it can be difficult to cope sometiems. Someone had asked about what they do to get negative thoughts out of their mind especially if it is leaving to uanlive yourself thoughts. I LOVED how the girls took the time a lot of time to answer this. Another thing they talked about was their decison to move to Gerogia. One of things I love about Alex so much is you can tell shes an incredible mother who loves her babies so much and wants them to live their best life. I love that she took them out of LA so they could live a somewhat normal life even though Mommy is an actress. And I love that Zibby chose to live near Alex because she loved the town. Their friendship really is everything! They also discussed what its like to be spotted by fans which I thought was great too!

The next episode was one of my favorites so far. It was iwth Marco Grazzini who plays Mike on the show. I loved this interview you can tell he is a hoot and a bit of a troll in the funny way. He and Zibby talkd about how they worked together in the past, they talked about his career and what methiods he uses for acting. He joked that he and his wife were married since they were 15 and Alex hilariously fell for it. You can tell he is quite the jokester. He talked about how he spekas three other languages, Italian, Spanish, and French. He is trying to teach his little girl (I think shes a little over a year old now) those languages as well.

Episdoe 12 was another AMA type episode. They answered a bunch of fan questions from Instagram. They talked about where they want to go on Vacation. Alex talked about how she is able to get herself emotional during scenes. She talkes about how she goes to a time where her son was sick and almost passed away. She didn’t go into detail about it beacuse its very heard for her to talk about. Alex hilarious talked about how she’s glad she doesn’t have to wipe her ids butts anymore. I thought that part was so funny and laughed out loud.

I hope you guys enjoy my recaps and review! The podcast Instaram posted today thanking me for them and that made me so happy then Alex reposted to her story. You are so welcome for me doing the articles I love it! I hope you guys are enjoying them! I will post about episode 13-16 tomorrow!!

Alexandra Breckenridge and Zibby Allen’s “I Like You Very Much Podcast” Episode 5-8 Review & Recap

Photo Credit: I Like You Very Much Instagram

So I’m now 8 episodes into this podcast! Its SOOO good. I can’t say it enough how relatable the the conversations are that these girls have. I love getting to know them more and hearikng how open and honest they are. I know I mentioned that before but I had to mention it again. The next episode was an AMA where they answiered fan questions. I love that they are connecting with their fans in that way. My hope is they bring fans on the pod sometime! I know I would absolutely love be a part of it. I’d love to open up to them about taking care of my 64 year old mother who has early onset Alzheimer’s. Especially since Alex was a part of the show This Is Us which focused on Mandy Moores character having Alzheimer’s. I just think talking about caregiving and rasiing awareness on it is always good.

The episode after that was their interview with Ben Hollingsworth who plays Brady on Virgin River. I was so so so excited to get to this episode. I love him and Zibby’s scenes the show and adore his character Brady in general. Ben talked about how he became an actor. His story is incredible to me and honestly inspiring to hear. His story is proof that if you put your mind to anything that you can do anything as long as you work hard at it. He said his greatest accomplishments are his kids (which you can tell by his Instagram posts), praised Zibby for how awsome she did with Brie’s sexy dance scene. and reassured her that she didnt’ do a bad job at it because it was something she was worried about. All around it was a great epiosode and great to learn more about Ben!

The next interview episode was with Kandyse McClure who plays Kaia on Virgin River. I found this episode to be so fun! Kandyse has sooo much energy, and she is so funny. She talked about living in LA, She talked about her life and her career. It was great she is so vibrant and honestly seems like she’d be the life of the party! I love the conversation the girls had about having that friend who is upfront and honest with you. Zibby talked about how Alex is like that for her and Kaia talked about her friend who like that for her. I have a best friend like that too and they were so right you really need that one friend to be like that! My best friend is named Natalie and she knows how to reel me in much like Alex does with Zibby. I just love that their topics are so relatable that they talk about.

After Kaia’s episode it was just an random episode of Zibby and Alex talking and laughing. I just adore them so much. I had to laugh at Zibby talking about how she was losing her shit before having to film an audtion that morning and how she talked of how her husband was there and just let her work through it. She reminds me of my sister who is the same exact way! I think its the anxiety. They talked about pyschics and Alex’s cookbook, I think they may have talked about Martin directing an episode of Virgin River as well. It was such a great conversation!

I just love love love this podcast! Make suire you guys listen to it! It’s so worth it! You really get to see how close Zibby and Alex are. Its so cute! Stay tuned to the site as I will update again tomorrow of the next 4 episodes!!

Alexandra Breckenridge and Zibby Allen’s “I Like You Very Much Podcast” Episode 1-4 Review & Recap

Article by Mar/@scoopthestarswithmar on Instagram

Virgin River’s Alexandra Breckenridge (Mel Monroe) and Zibby Allen (Brie Sheridan) started their own podcast this past July (of 2024) called “I LIke You Very Much”. I”m not the Podcast type and usually can’t get thorugh them probaly in part to having ADHD and getting distracted easily. However I LOVE Virign River and these two besties are my absolute favesies so I wanted to check it out.

The one thing that makes this podcast different than any of the others out there is they are doing it through Supercast where you have to have a subscription to listen. While this might turn some people off, I can assure you that it is worth the $25 or $30 one time purchase of subscription a year to listen to. If you would like to listen to it go here. A portion of the subscription money goes towards Save The Children. My favoritre thing about the podcast is the fact that you can watch the episodes. It makes it even better.

Zibby and Alex seem so down to earth and such wonderful people. Their first episode is an introduction to the pod where they tell you a little bit about it, they explain the subscritpion process and what all comes with what you purcahsed. They show so much excitement about staring this new adventure together. Their excitement made me excited to listen to more episodes! They just really weant poeple to love it, well girls I LOVE it.

In the second episode they interview Annette O’Toole who plays Hope McCrae on VIrign River. It was such a great interview. The girls did so good with their questions and talking to her. Alex and Annette talked about motherhood, how hard is to work and being away from your kids. Zibby wants to be Annettes agent and has so many ideas for her. They all talked about their husbands, and how they grew up, Alex opened up about her difficulty reading as a child and how it effected her, Zibby opened up about her choice to not have children, and Annette opened up about her past miscarriages. They talked about their acting careers and really it was just a great episode of them bonding even more than they already are! I loved it and loved how open they all were.

The third episode was another interview this time with Lauren Hammersly who plays Charmaine on Virgin River. This was another interview where the girls opened up a lot to each other. All three of the mtalked about their past history with being bullied. I was so sad to hear they were all bullied but it was also a relatable conversation to have as I was bullied to growing up. Like Lauren I have ADD so it was nice to be able to relate to that. Lauren told us about her cabin, and talked about how she felt being a newbie on the set of Virgin River when the show just got started. She said it took her awhile to feel like she could fit in.

In episode 4 Zibby and Alex explained why they are doing the podcast. They had the idea to do one a year or so before actually doing it. Zibby was unsure about it at first due to having a bad experience with a podcast before but eventually she got on board and is having so much fun with Alex doing the pod.

Overall I would 10/10 reccomend this podcast! They are are so open, honest, and down to earth. They open up about things that are hard to open up about. I love that they talk abouit their famlies, they not only get serious but they have funny hilarious moments too that just make you laugh out loud! I can’t wait to listen to more so check back for more upcoming reviews!!

Call It What It Is Episode 1 Review

If you ever watched Greys Anatomy you would know of Jessica Capshaaw and Camilla Luddington. Jessica played the iconic Arizona Robbins, pediatric surgeron at Grey Sloan and Camilla who is still on sthe show plays Josephine (Jo) Wilson. These two besiteis have come out with such an iconic podcast which I wanted to review. The podcast is called “Call It What It Is” and episode 1 came out today.

Today’s episode was more of an introduction. It started off with Jessica telling us a little bit more about hersself and then Camilla following suit. I personally LOVE getting to know these girls outside of the characters they play as well as seeing how their friendsihp is. Jessica is a mom to 4 beautiful kids, and Camilla is a mom to two beautiful kids. Other things they talked about themselvse was where they are from and where they’ve lived. They met on the set of Greys Anatomy and the funny thing is Jess did not like Camilla at first. They talked about an incident with Camilla snapping a picture of the burger food truck that Shonda Rhimes got for the Greys cast and posting it to Twitter not realizing Jess was in the photo eating a burger LOL. They however sorted it all out and have become the best of friends.

The girls also expressed the importance of having a friendship where you can be blunt with each other. I personally loved this as I have a best friend named Natalie who knows me so well. She knows the kind of tough love I need sometimes! I try to be like this with my friends too. Although I do have one friend that can’t really take the truth. I love how Camilla and Jess talked about how they are laways there for each other. They also talked about their trip to Paris and how different getting a coffee is there than in the US. It was so great to just learn more about them. The podcast is going to be so fun as they will be taking calls, emails, and messages from fans as well as having them LIVE on the show! They will also have guests!

I personally cannot wait to hear more episodes. The epoisodes will drop every Monday! You can go here to find out where to listen:

Taylor Swift – A True Romantic

Photo Credit: Taylor Nation on X/Twitter

Written by my Aunt Laur (She’s a Swifitie English Teacher)

The Romantic Period is generally accepted to have occurred from 1800-1850. It is marked as a time when writers, musicians, and artists believed the world offered unlimited possibilities. A time when they could live their lives the way they wished. The Romantic was a person who revered nature, who felt emotions with a deep intensity, and who believed imagination was necessary to understand the world. Romantics lived their lives on their terms in some cases rejecting societal norms. They supported revolutions, advocated for freedom and acceptance of marginalized groups, and believed that art could change the world. They were responding to the events of the world at this time by rebelling and sharing their truth.

Taylor Swift told us in 1989 that she and her friends are the “New Romantics.” She uses a lot of allusion in her songs that can be traced to the Romantic Period. “The Lakes where the poets went to die” refers to Williams Wordsworth (who is name-checked in the song), Samuel Taylor Coleridge, and other Romantic poets who lived and died in the Lakes district. Samuel Taylor Coleridge was also the author of the poem “The Rime of the Ancient Mariner” about the man who killed the albatross and was forced to wear it around his neck for penance. However, in Taylor Swift’s allusion, “The Albatross” is not killed and returns to save the man. Hans Christian Andersen wrote “The Little Mermaid” during the Romantic Period, and although he may not have included the line “But Daddy I Love Him,” the sentiment was implied.

Nathaniel Hawthorne’s The Scarlet Letter is considered a Romantic novel. According to Ms. Swift, in the song “New Romantics,” her scarlet letter is better, and in “Love Story,” Juliet is described as “a scarlet letter.” The end of the Romantic Period included Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, referenced in “Wonderland” and “Long Story Short.” Also possibly referring to Alice’s world may be the hedge maze in “Guilty as Sin” and the maze in her mind in “Labyrinth.” Peter Pan just missed the Romantic Era but was obviously influenced by the fantasy and vivid descriptions noted during the period. References to this novel are found in “Cardigan” and “Peter.”

Grimms’ Fairy Tales was published during the Romantic Period.  The fairytale motif is present in multiple songs, including  “Today Was a Fairytale,” “Long Live,” and “Enchanted.”   The song “The Best Day” mentions “Snow White and the Seven Dwarves” and princesses. Although the song “Bejeweled” might not seem like a fairytale reference, the video shows the similarities to “Cinderella.” The song “So Long, London” talks about “fairy lights in the mist” that were known to lead people astray in fairytales. “Clara Bow” includes the line, “Beauty is a beast that roars/ Down on all fours/ Demanding more.” Fairytales have clearly influenced Taylor Swift throughout her career.

The somewhat misinterpreted line “I’d say the 1830s” in “I Hate It Here” was Taylor Swift’s way of stating she would have liked to be alive during the Romantic Period when these artists were creating these descriptive, emotional, and fantastical works. The Romantics were the rock (or pop) stars of their day. Lord Byron created the moody Byronic Hero, which some compare to the “Anti-hero.” The deep emotions combined with the sudden fame of the artists would sometimes result in issues with anxiety, addiction, and depression. Although the artists believed the world offered many possibilities, they also struggled at times.

The Romantic Period is known for its emotional works, full of hope, love, longing, and references to folklore. All things that can be found in Taylor Swift’s work. This artist who seamlessly rules the world is a new – and true Romantic.
